It is important to wash your hands before touching the pierced area and the jewelry itself. In order to protect the trigeminal nerve (the fifth cranial nerve), this piercing is usually made on the outer third of the eyebrow. It can be done both vertically and horizontally, the former being generally favored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a preventive measure we X-ray and palpate the area thoroughly before proceeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is also advisable to make a 1.6mm piercing and have the customer wear a piece of jewelry which is also 1.6mm in diameter, because the greater width of the jewelry will help it take better root in the surrounding tissue and thereby reduce the risk of it growing out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
