Yes, absolutely.
Without a prior appointment, a piercing will rarely be possible, given that we are almost always booked up.
The chances of getting a piercing without an appointment are more or less those of winning the lottery :).
A phone call will suffice: 0676 7003000 – see our opening times.

Because we are not amateurs. We are one of the few studios who are officially authorized to pierce. We are recognized by the government and our piercer is officially certified.
We also have the annually updated hygiene certificate for our operation room and for the autoclaves. This provides you, the customer, with the assurance that you are in safe hands. That is also why we obtained a trading license.
You can find the exact prices for individual piercings on our homepage under the category “Prices”.
Your boss cannot actually forbid you from getting a piercing, but your boss’s objection is understandable if you have a lot of contact with clients. You should try to find a solution by discussing it with him/her. Perhaps opt for smaller, or more transparent balls. For example, in the case of the Labret, Madonna, or Medusa, we have labret studs made of PTFE using a transparent plate which is hardly visible. You can also come visit us and we will show you some of your options.
Yes and no. In the strict sense of the term, we cannot offer you a guarantee. That said, if you follow the guidelines we outlined for the healing process, you should be fine. If unexpected problems should crop up, you should contact us by phone or come to us in the studio and we will have a look at it. If we should make a mistake during the piercing, we will offer you a new piercing free of charge; note that this is not the case if you happen to lose or remove your piercing, or if it closes.
Piercing-Questions: Pain, Problems, Risks
Whatever you wish, but please do not come to an appointment on an empty stomach. To avoid circulation problems, you should eat something and make sure you drink enough liquids.
Pain is subjective, and everyone experiences pain to a different degree, so this is not a question we can effectively answer. In general, though, we can say that it is not all that painful.
Yes, this is possible in some places, but isn’t really necessary.
An autoclave is used to sterilize the tools that have been used. They are first placed in a bacteria-killing bath, washed, then individually packed and sealed. Then they are put in our new Melag autoclave.
Finally, they are dried and brought back into our studio. The same procedure applies to used piercing jewelry.
No. The stories which have claimed that this is so are simply fabrications.
Often you’ll hear something like, “Yes, but I have a friend of a friend whose sister experienced this when she got pierced.” I can assure you that if you actually try to track this person down, you’ll find that she doesn’t exist.
Unlike titanium, surgical steel possesses an excessive amount of nickel; that is why it is not suitable as a first application and forbidden. For this reason we use titanium, which doesn’t contain any nickel at all.
Because the jewelry we use as a first application is packaged and sterilized. Our jewelry is first wrapped using our Melafoil machine, then heated to 135° in the autoclave, and sterilized by means of the chamber’s constant pressure.
This process is not possible using your personal piece of jewelry. Although we could disinfect it, that would not suffice for the open wound created by the piercing.
Moreover, we only use the highest-quality titanium which is delivered to us by specialized suppliers.
Yes, this is possible. We have titanium balls with rose, blue, and white Swarovski stones packaged and sterilized.
Every person’s ear has a different anatomical structure. It all depends on the where your cartilage tissue begins. If it begins higher up, then piercing a second or third hole will not be a problem.
Because in those areas you’re dealing with cartilage tissue which is considerably tougher than the tissue in the earlobe (connective tissue). Besides, the piercing gun will tear the cartilage tissue, because the jewelry is shot directly through the cartilage. In this case the cartilage dies (resulting in necrosis, which makes it look like you have another hole in your ear) or additional cartilage is created with the cell tissue in the exit canal, resulting in a “bulge” behind your ear.
Furthermore, if you use a piercing gun you can only use the traditional medical ear studs, which are very uncomfortable if worn in the nose or in other areas apart from the earlobe.
No, with a tongue piercing performed in the middle of the tongue septum that is impossible since the taste buds are located on the outer edge of the tongue.
Polytetrafluoroethylene. It can be used as a first application and can be sterilized in an autoclave.
Like Titanium, it contains no nickel.
During the final two-thirds of a pregnancy, the woman’s belly swells, which can cause the navel piercing to grow out. In this period, a PTFE stud can be used because it is flexible, but a better option would be to remove the navel piercing and reinsert it periodically to prevent the canal from closing completely. Following the pregnancy, the piercing can be worn normally.
It is recommended that you remove the piercing when breastfeeding, in order to facilitate the process for the infant, and prevent the baby from swallowing the piercing.
Of course you can bring someone along, perhaps even to hold your hand or lend you support during the piercing process. We have nothing to hide.
Dermal anchors are small implants that are inserted beneath the skin and take root in the surrounding tissue. The upper attachments can be switched according to the customer’s preferences. For more information on the process, please see the HOW WE PUNCH section on our homepage.
Skindivers are also small implants, even smaller than dermal anchors. They do not allow you to switch the attachments, however, but they can be placed in spots where there isn’t too much skin tissue available, like the back of the hand or the knuckle. Again, refer to HOW WE PUNCH on our homepage for more information.
Surface piercings are placed on the surface of the body, so that the entry and exit canals are on the same plane. This form of piercing is confined to specific areas of the body. We use 90° surface piercings which are stable and do not grow out.
In general the answer is NO! The risk of them growing out is minimal, since the jewelry used is designed specifically for this purpose.
Yes. And you should.
Just make sure that you don’t snag the piercing while soaping yourself or drying off.
Yes; you should avoid a full bath in the first two weeks following the piercing, because this multiplies the bacteria exponentially and is detrimental to the healing process.
There are no fixed guidelines for this; if it isn’t painful, then you can have sex. You must, however, be as meticulous as possible when it comes to personal hygiene. You should also clean the piercing thoroughly before and after sexual intercourse, and initially use a condom.
Because if you do it yourself, you may not be able to get the new piece of jewelry inserted fast enough (you may be too nervous, for instance), or you might drop the ball and the piercing might close up on you before you have time to reinsert it (this is a question of minutes).
In addition, your piercer will be able to tell you how long the piercing should be and whether it is the right time to make the switch.
This question cannot be accurately answered simply because everyone is different, and will also depend on how long you’ve had the piercing. For example, if you’ve had it for 10 years, you will certainly have more time than if you got it last year. In any case, I would not recommend that you try it.
If you’re undergoing surgery, you will be asked to remove it; but if you make it clear to the doctors that you wish to avoid this if possible, most of them will allow you to keep it in. If they don’t allow it, then make sure you put it right back in following the operation.
When getting an X-Ray, an MRT, or a CT, you can use a PTFE or a Bioplast piercing. They are “invisible” and have no magnetic properties. Your best option is to come to us and we will change it for you.
No, there is no excessive bleeding.
Healing: Procedure, duration etc.
This is a general outline of a piercing procedure:
You start by filling out the declaration of consent, after which we verify your photo ID. Then you take a seat and we discuss what kind of jewelry and ball you would like to wear. Before piercing, we disinfect the area and mark the spot on the skin; you can then check the designated spot in the mirror to confirm it is exactly where you want it. If not, we repeat the process. Then we proceed with the piercing. Of course we are there to answer any questions you may have along the way. And finally, after we’ve performed the piercing, we will discuss care and maintenance with you in detail.
The actual piercing lasts less than a second. However, you should allow about 20 minutes for the discussion beforehand, the marking, and the post-operation treatment including any questions you may have.
This varies, since every piercing is different. The healing process also depends on your health at the moment, e.g. if you have/had a cold. In general, the healing takes anywhere between 2 – 12 weeks.
This manual applies to all piercings that are not performed in the mouth or in the genital area.
For single-point piercings like dermal anchors (DA) skindivers, surface piercings and genital piercings, we’ve drawn up a different healing manual.
Recommended medicine:
We recommend the use of the indicated medicines, none of which requires a prescription, but can only be found in a pharmacy.
We are not liable for the use or application of these medicines; consult your doctor or pharmacist for any side effects or risks involved.
The products mentioned can be obtained at our shop on the day of your piercing or at any other time thereafter.
Recommended healing products: ProntoLind Gel and ProntoLind Spray with a polyhexanide-betaine complex from Prontomed
Daily care for external piercings (Twice a day for 2-3 weeks):
- Wash your hands before touching the piercing and disinfect your hands afterward.
- Spray on ProntoLind Spray and leave it on for 30 seconds. Then wipe it clean with a smooth tissue (paper towel or kleenex, no cotton balls!)
- Apply ProntoLind Gel and let it absorb. Then carefully begin to move the piercing backwards and forwards.
(Do not twist the piercing/implant, and do not even move the surface piercings!)
Note:
The surface piercing should be touched as little as possible (wash and disinfect your hands if doing so), and exposed to as little irritation as possible as well.
Do not remove or twist the piercing when cleaning, since this can further damage the wound canal.
Use ProntoLind-Spray and ProntoLind-Gel twice a day for the first 2-3 weeks, then once a day for another 3 weeks.
Healing process for all Piercings:
- Depending on the area, the initial healing of a surface piercing can take anywhere between 3 – 12 weeks, and up to 12 months for a complete recovery. A swelling of the lymph nodes in the first few weeks is completely normal.
- At the beginning, make sure you have a professional piercer switch your jewelry to another size of ball, bar, or ring.
- Never tape the piercing wound shut. Also avoid “wound” ointments, alcohol or chlorine-based disinfectants, hydrogen peroxide, and essential oils.
- Saunas, sunbeds, steam baths, and any kind of swimming in pools should be avoided for two weeks. Exposure to sea water is allowed after 7 days.
- Do not color or dye your hair for the first 6 weeks; use caution when combing your hair or visiting the hairdresser/barber.
- It is normal for there to be a wound secretion around the pierced area (initially clear, then yellowish-brown, not to be confused with pus) and for it to become sebaceous. This is part of the healing process, and can be removed with ProntoLind Spray, or when showering.
- A slight reddening and swelling of the skin and light post-treatment bleeding are normal in the first 10 days.
- When engaging in everyday tasks such as dressing, undressing, eating, shaving, applying cream, showering, washing, opening and closing cupboards, be careful that the piercing does not get caught in something and tear.
- Avoid lying down for too long or exerting undue pressure on the pierced area, as this can cause damage.
- If you see the piercing growing in a “crooked” direction, you can lightly twist it in the opposite direction and hold it there a few seconds in order to set it straight again.
Specific healing process for genital piercings:
- When you’ve gotten a genital piercing, you should give yourself some time before resuming normal sexual relations. Depending on the area, this can be between 7-14 days. Your piercer will give you more details. In any case, you should use a condom in this period and make sure you clean the area immediately afterward, following the guideline outlined here.
- Take special care not to tear the piercing when shaving. Use a tweezer for that area if necessary.
- You may have some post-operation bleeding or a hematoma (which is completely normal), therefore I would recommend using a panty liner in the first days, and apply ProntoLind products as described.
- Your own urine is an extremely effective healing agent which you should apply in addition to the other products mentioned.
Concerns & Questions:
Should there be unexpected problems during the healing process, or should you have any doubts, contact your piercer immediately or write to us. Most complications can be straightened out quickly. In case of an emergency occurring outside of our work hours, go to the hospital immediately.
The healing process in this case is similar to that of external piercings.
Of course you should avoid moving, twisting, or removing the implant, single-point piercing, or microdermal.
The healing process requires a gentle touch.
For the first 3 months, we recommend making an appointment with your piercer every 4 weeks, so that the implant can be cleaned and adjusted.

- After brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth out with ProntoLind (60 seconds).
For tongue and lip frenulum piercings, use the ProntoLind mouth wash only twice a day and use the ProntoLind mouth spray several times a day (Number 1-3 do not apply).
Note:
Do not handle or interfere too much with the piercing, because this can lead to irreparable damage to your teeth and gums. Simply monitor your healing progress. Touch the piercing as little as possible (and if you do, wash and disinfect your hands first), and do not expose it to unnecessary irritation.
Never use cotton balls, makeup remover pads, or toilet paper when cleaning the piercing, because the fibers contained in them can cause an inflammation in the wound canal. Do not twist or remove the piercing when cleaning it, because both can damage the wound canal.
Eating & Drinking:
Products to avoid for at least 3 days: Dairy products (ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, etc.), alcohol, cigarettes (nicotine in any form), and chemical products like teeth whitener.
Ice is allowed, but do not lick ice cubes. In the first few days following a tongue piercing, you should eat through a straw, ideally a nutritious soup or baby food. After every meal or drink, rinse your mouth out with still water that is low in mineral content (and use ProntoLind mouth wash, as described above).

Medical Considerations
Why no dairy products?
Dairy products should be avoided after a piercing in the mouth because the lactic acid bacteria contained in milk risk attacking the formation of a blood clot which is vital for the healing of the wound.
Why and for how long should caffeine by avoided?
For the first two days following a piercing procedure, caffeine (coffee, black tea, energy drinks) should be avoided because it can increase blood pressure which can in turn lead to bleeding of the wound.
Alcohol should also be avoided because of its anticoagulant properties.
Why you should not smoke in this period:
Smoking tobacco poses a risk to the healing process, especially the burning of tobacco. Tar and nicotine are detrimental to the wound, as is any smoke caused from the burning of other substances, and should therefore be avoided.
Why a soft diet is preferable:
Eating wholegrain products and meals that have “crumbly” components are problematic after a piercing procedure since the crumbs risk getting into the wound and causing inflammation. Since the act of chewing can be painful and the swelling can prevent you from eating properly, it is recommended that you consume soups and a soft diet generally.
Why you should brush your teeth and perform mouthwashes:
In order to avoid infection due to food residues getting into the open wound, you should rinse your mouth after every meal, and continue with your usual dental hygiene, making sure to avoid brushing your teeth too aggressively. If necessary, use an extra-soft toothbrush. In addition, you should apply a mouthwash from ProntoLind, since this will serve as an antiseptic and will reduce the bacterial count in the oral cavity. We recommend using ProntoLind Mouthwash and Mouth Spray, or consulting your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt.
The healing procedure is the same for both men and women.
Healing process of a genital piercing, clitoral hood piercing with a ring and an angular ball.
The healing procedure is similar to that of the external areas, with a few differences.
Hygiene, as always, is vital.
Recommended medication:
We recommend the use of the indicated medicines, none of which requires a prescription, but can only be found in a pharmacy.
We are not liable for the use or application of these medicines; consult your doctor or pharmacist for any side effects or risks involved.
You can obtain the indicated products from our studio on the day of your piercing or any time thereafter.

Piercings/implants/surface piercings should not be twisted and if possible, not even moved!
Note:
The surface piercing should be touched as little as possible (wash and disinfect your hands if doing so), and exposed to as little irritation as possible as well.
Do not remove or twist the piercing when cleaning, since this can further damage the wound canal.

- In the case of genital piercings it is recommended that you wait a while until resuming normal sexual activities.
- Depending on the piercing, this could be anywhere between 0-21 days. Your piercer will provide you with more detailed information.
- Naturally, we don’t wish to deprive you of life’s pleasures.
- Generally, your body will tell you what is good for it and what it wants.
- Initially you may feel no stimulation at all in the affected area, and perhaps even experience some pain. It may be beneficial to “moderate” your sexual activities initially in order to protect the pierced area.
- You must wear a condom during sexual intercourse and ensure strict personal hygiene following sexual intercourse, according to the guidelines outlined above.
- Oral sex should be engaged in with care, given that the inside of the mouth contains about 1 billion bacteria. What may seem like “harmless” oral sex can therefore lead to inflammation. We recommend abstaining from oral sex for the two first weeks.
- Is anal sex a viable alternative? Well, keep in mind that the anal sphincter and the vagina are close to each other. Therefore, although it is physically an alternative, it poses a greater risk of bacterial infection. Personal hygiene is of course imperative here as well.
- Masturbation is permitted, but care should still be taken and personal hygiene is a must. Any vibrating devices should not come into contact with the pierced area for the first 2 weeks.
- Sex toys should be thoroughly cleaned before and after use and if possible should be used with a condom.
- SM (Sadomasochism & Co.): We recommend that you give the piercing time to heal before subjecting it to undue stress. Weights, stretching needles, and other instruments should only be used once the area has healed 100%, otherwise there is a risk of it growing askew, growing out, or tearing.
- Use caution when shaving the genital area, and make sure you don’t tear the piercing with your razor.
- Use tweezers to pull out hairs if possible.
- You may experience some “post-operation bleeding” (which is completely normal), therefore we recommend using a panty liner/pad for the first few days.
Any other questions?

Even if your piercing no longer looks inflamed after 1 or 2 weeks, you should continue caring for it. In fact, you can never care too long for it, but you can stop too soon.
Initially the stud needs to be longer in case the area should begin to swell. If the pierced area does swell and the stud is too short, it puts undue pressure on the piercing, which may slow down the healing process and in some cases even force you to remove the piercing altogether. If this happens, there is a risk that the canal will close within a few minutes, requiring you to pierce it all over again.
Once the piercing has healed, which is usually after about 2 weeks.
Twice a day is ideal. Any more than that can irritate the piercing canal and is counterproductive.
