It is a surface piercing which is done vertically and above the clitoral hood, running through the beginning of the pubic bone.

The piercing can be done with a surface barbell horizontally or diagonally through the pubic bone, in which case it is called a pubic piercing.

Technically, the Christina piercing is not really a form of genital piercing, because it provides no stimulation for the woman wearing it.

Also, it is not necessarily recommended to every woman and depends largely on the woman’s anatomy.

Piercing procedure:

The piercing begins in the fold where the two outer labia meet and comes out through the pubic mound. For anatomical reasons it is not possible on all women, since some do not have this fold because their clitoral hood begins right at the bottom of the pubic mound.

Jewelry:

A banana bar or a surface bar with a thickness of 1.6mm is generally used for this piercing. We also recommend jewelry made of the flexible PTFE material. Technically, a Christina piercing is a surface piercing and must therefore be executed at the right depth. The length of the piercing will vary from one customer to another, and the material will be chosen accordingly.

Healing:

This piercing should take about 3 to 4 months to heal. Because it is a surface piercing, it can lead to complications during the healing period. Due to the position of the piercing, the canal is exposed to considerable movement and friction, and if it is not executed at the right depth, the Christina piercing may grow back out. Even if the woman has more tissue around her pubic bone than usual, the risk of it growing out is still high.

Unfortunately we often get reports of customers tearing the piercing, not during intercourse, but while dressing or engaging in other daily tasks.

The piercing should not be removed, even when shaving in this area; when it has healed completely then it can be taken out before shaving.

Tip:

We highly recommend that the customer think it through before deciding on a Christina piercing, and if possible opt for a clitoral hood piercing instead, which has nothing but benefits. Alternatively, you can get a dermal anchor done if you want something decorative in that particular area.

A Christina or Venus piercing generally heals very quickly and there are rarely any complications. Approximately 3-4 months are needed for the initial healing stage.

Genital piercings can take between 2 weeks and 6 months to heal completely, rarely longer. Like other external piercings, in the first three weeks it should be cleaned with ProntoLind spray twice a day, and then coated with ProntoLind gel. It is important to wash your hands before touching the pierced area and the jewelry itself. By caring for the piercing in the correct manner and with the proper materials, you will rarely have to deal with cases of proud flesh.

Disinfectant solutions containing alcohol or chlorine should be avoided.

When it comes to having sexual intercourse following the piercing we do not advise you against it, but usually people wait a couple of days before resuming normal sexual relations.

A secret tip is using your own urine as a healing agent, which can speed up the healing process enormously.

Alternative:

Those who do not want a Christina piercing can consider getting a clitoral hood piercing, a Nefertiti, or a pubic piercing instead.

If you’re looking for something decorative on the pubic bone, I would recommend a dermal anchor instead.
