Lost nose piercing

1. Lost nose piercing (Corkscrew or stud):

Lost nose piercings also require prompt action.

A nose piercing heals and closes very quickly, therefore you should put the corkscrew back inside and turn it until it sticks.

If this is not an option, simply resort to a straight nose piercing or an earring, so that the wound canal remains open.

You may have to have the canal subsequently stretched, but that’s always better than piercing it twice.

2. Lost nose piercing (Ring or Segment ring):

A nose piercing also requires prompt action.

A nose piercing heals and closes readily, therefore the open ring (if the captive bead is missing) or the segment ring (if the segment is missing) should be reinserted, if possible simply by turning it from the outside in and then fixing it with a band-aid, for instance.

If this is not an option, simply resort to a straight nose piercing or an earring, so that the wound canal remains open.

You may have to have the canal subsequently stretched, but that’s always better than piercing it twice.
