Nape-Piercing

The nape piercing consists of either individual Dermal Anchors, a central dermal anchor, a long surface barbell or a flexible PTFE bar. The nape piercing can be performed with one or two dermal anchors.

The alternative to a nape with a dermal anchor is a nape with a surface piercing.

Placement:

In recent years, the nape piercing has grown in popularity, with men and with women. It is a striking form of piercing and can be worn both horizontally or vertically.

Some customers opt simply for a centered dermal anchor on the nape of the neck.

Healing:

The nape piercing takes around 4-6 weeks to heal, depending on whether one has gotten a surface piercing or a dermal anchor.

However, you must consider the fact that this area of the body is in constant movement, which can adversely affect the piercing.

A nape piercing can take between 1 and 6 months to heal completely, rarely longer. Like other external piercings, in the first three weeks it should be cleaned with ProntoLind spray twice a day, and then coated with ProntoLind gel. It is important to wash your hands before touching the pierced area and the jewelry itself. By caring for the piercing in the correct manner and with the proper materials, you can do a great deal to prevent the onset of proud flesh.

Disinfectant solutions containing alcohol or chlorine should be avoided.

Tip:

I personally recommend that you opt for a dermal anchor, because this kind of implant is simply more stable than a surface piercing.
