Nefertiti-Piercing

Nefertiti_Piercing_Bild1

This piercing was first performed at the end of the 1990s as an improvement on the more risky Isabella piercing.

Therefore, it is a relatively recent piercing, and is effectively an extension of the Christina piercing, running from below the clitoral hood upward to the end of the pubic bone.

However, this piercing is much rarer than the popular vertical clitoral hood piercing (VCH).

Placement:

The top end of this piercing is located — just like the Christina piercing — on the pubic mound, while the bottom lies just above the clitoris and below the clitoral hood. It can thus be seen as a combination of the vertical clitoral hood piercing and the Christina piercing, but with a considerably longer piercing canal.

Healing:

The Nefertiti piercing should take about 3 to 4 months to heal. Because it is a surface and a mucous membrane piercing it can lead to complications during the healing period. Due to the position of the piercing, the canal is exposed to considerable movement and friction, and if it is not executed at the right depth, the Christina piercing may grow back out. Even if the woman has more tissue around her pubic bone than usual, the risk of it growing out is still high.

A Nefertiti piercing generally heals very quickly and there are rarely any complications. Approximately 3-4 months are needed for the initial healing stage.

Genital piercings can take between 2 weeks and 3-4 months to heal completely, rarely longer. Like other external piercings, in the first three weeks it should be cleaned with ProntoLind spray twice a day, and then coated with ProntoLind gel. It is important to wash your hands before touching the pierced area and the jewelry itself. By caring for the piercing in the correct manner and with the proper materials, you will rarely have to deal with cases of proud flesh.

Disinfectant solutions containing alcohol or chlorine should be avoided.

When it comes to having sexual intercourse following the piercing we do not advise you against it, but usually people wait a couple of days before resuming normal sexual relations.

A secret tip is using your own urine as a healing agent, which can speed up the healing process enormously.

Jewelry:

As jewelry we recommend a flexible PTFE bar. If the piercing canal is shorter, a barbell can then subsequently be used, but initially it is not suited to this piercing because it is too rigid and can exert undue pressure on the area.

Comparison with similar piercings/advantages:

The Nefertiti piercing combines the advantages of the clitoral hood piercing and the Christina piercing. It offers the sexual stimulation of a clitoral hood piercing, but provides an added aesthetic appeal through its higher placement, making it more visible.

Unlike the Christina piercing, it is much less prone to growing out, though the danger of it snagging persists. Shaving this area requires care.

This form of piercing is not dangerous since there is no risk of damaging important nerves. However, compared with the clitoral hood piercing, the healing process is a little longer and requires more care and attention by the wearer.

Alternatives:

Alternatives include the vertical clitoral hood piercing or the Isabella piercing.
